To ask a question you must be a subscriber to Experts Online and logged in.

EITHER log in by clicking on 'Login' at the top right hand corner of the page
OR register your interest in Experts Online by clicking on 'Contact us' in the blue bar.

• Once you have logged in, click on 'Ask a question' on the left hand side of the page.
• Type your question in the box which appears.
• Select the area that best suits your question using the drop down list below the question box. If you are unsure which area your question fits into please select 'not sure' and the Experts Online moderator will send it to the appropriate expert.
• Click 'Submit Question' to send your question to the experts.

To read an answer in Experts Online you must be a subscriber to Experts Online and logged in.

EITHER log in by clicking on 'Login' at the top right hand corner of the page
OR register your interest in Experts Online by clicking on 'Contact us' in the blue bar.

• If you have asked a question, you will be sent an email when it has been answered. The email will contain a link to Experts Online.
• Click on this link and log in. You will now be able to read the answer. A picture and biography on the expert who answered the question will appear on the right hand side.
• To read answers to any other questions click on 'Read the answer'

To post a comment you must be a subscriber to Experts Online and logged in.

EITHER log in by clicking on 'Login' at the top right hand corner of the page
OR register your interest in Experts Online by clicking on 'Contact us' in the blue bar.

• Click on 'Add new comment'.
• Type in a subject heading and your comment.
• Click on 'Preview comment' to view your comment and 'Post comment' to place it on the website.

You can search Experts Online in three ways:

1. 1. To search the site for topics of interest, type a key word or phrase into the box on the left hand side of the page.
   • Click on 'Search'.
   • A list of related questions will appear; the latest questions first.
2. 2. The site can also be searched by area simply by clicking on the blue links under 'Browse Areas' on the left hand side of the page.
   • A list of related questions will appear; the latest questions first.
3. 3. The site can also be searched by clicking on the blue links under 'Recent tags' on the left hand side of the page. The tags are used to more closely describe the questions.
   • A list of questions in that area will appear; the latest questions first.

To read any answer you must be a subscriber to Experts Online and logged in. (Please see 'How do I read an answer?').

You cannot attach files to questions. If you have a file that you think would help the Expert deal with your question then:

EITHER indicate in your question that you have a file you could send (and the expert will ask you to email it to them if they need it to answer the question)

OR, if the content of the file is simple text and not too long, copy and paste the content of the file into the question box
