I’d welcome any advice on websites that host films that can be passworded easily. We’ve been using YouTube, but have run into some difficulties around the passwording – i.e. you can’t actually password the films, but you can make them private and ‘invite’ people to join, however, the people must join YouTube to be allowed to view them, which makes it a bit complicated. Are there simpler options?
How do I set the default page size to A4 in Microsoft Word (2002 10.2627.2625). I have changed it in the Page Setup and in the Advanced settings but it defaults back to 'Letter' with every new document.
Where can I buy charity-priced anti-virus software for a server? I have tried CTXchange and they don't stock any.
Where can I find a free search facility for our website that will allow visitors to search the contents of that website?
I have unused licences for Norton Anti-virus 2008 which I have on some PCs and I am going to be putting AVG on some others. Can I use Norton Anti-virus 2008 on a server as well or do servers require specific server anti-virus software? Also are there any issues I need to be aware of when installing anti-virus software on to a server?
We are a group of volunteers running a sports facility in Cumbria, we have a website which is very basic. We would like to add a booking/reservation system that could be managed via the internet. This would allow us to manage the bookings remotely. We have the following sporting facilities for hire 2 X Grass Pitches, Astroturf, Conference room, gym and Athletics Track and need to control the bookings.
Can you please advise if there are any ready made applications that don’t cost the earth and what things we should consider before committing any money but more importantly time to the project? The website is hosted by our ISP.
The main driver for this is to make the bookings visable to all the volunteers and treasurer and to have one booking system to avoid confusion / double booking.
As a fledgling social enterprise providing technical support to third sector peers, we are looking for a product that can assist in managing the ICT assets of our clients. We wish to offer a service where we can offer automatic, recurring systems audit which will measure against an agreed benchmark (minimum hardware spec, software license entitlement, etc) and highlight where pc's do not comply with the benchmark in a printable asset inventory. Do you know of such a product that is aimed at the service provider that will not break the bank?
We are considering starting a text messaging service for our enquirers, and would like to enable them to send a text to our phone from our website. What do we need to do/buy/set up in order to do this?
If a website company develops bespoke software for a company and the terms and conditions state that the copyright is granted on full payment (which has been made), can they then say we don't own the software? We have been told that we now have to pay an annual service charge in order to use the software we commissioned them to design for us. They have said we can't 'transfer' the hosting to another company.
